Abstract

In Japan, the concept of diversity has come to the fore since the year 2000 when the former national business federation Keidanren launched a research group focussing on diversity. In addition, the promotion of female employees has become one of the most important initiatives to encourage diversity in the workplace and the initiative is integral to business strategy.
