Two Researches on the Theory of Historical Progress

Abstract

Marx's theory of historical progress, nowadays the main challenges encountered two trends: one is history, "eschatology" and "end" theory, the other is post-modern view of history. In this paper, advances in theory and history of the relationship between these two trends were specific Analysis, and inspections. Marx's theory of historical progress is not a "doomsday" talking about "historical teleology" or "myth of prophecy", but according to the laws of historical development and human creative activity and establish themselves; to achieve social progress is a continuous process, announced the "end of history" is too absurd. Although the history of post-modern view of history made ​​some progress worth considering, but the basic concept of the negative view of historical progress is extreme, one-sided view of history of science can not do without the nature of history, law, basic grasp of the development trends just playing with pieces of history can only be oriented historical nihilism, relativism
