Abstract

In order to study the theme of justice in Augustine's works, it can be useful to see whom or which the bishop of Hippo applies and reserves the adjective iniustus to. This paper confines the inquiry to the magnum opus et arduum of the City of God and answers three main questions: who was unjust? Who cannot be unjust? Which unjust can become just?
