Over the past four decades, the issue of the relationship between divine omniscience and human freedom has been the subject of a great debate in the context of Analytic Philosophy of Religion. Many authors have contributed to the debate by formulating some ‘solutions’, taking inspiration from the thought of classical authors (e.g. Boethius, Aquinas, Ockham). One of these, is inspired by Luis de Molina’s thought. The Author, therefore, aims to present the main theoretical thesis of this solution, following the development (...) in the various publications about this question. The Author also tries to show how the thought of Molina has beeen “translated” in contemporary discourse, the limits of the solution, and make understandable the transition occurred within the debate, which led to the Molinist solution and then to the Open Theism. Over the past four decades, the question of the relationship between divine omniscience and human freedom has led analytic philosophy of religion to analyze medieval thought on foreknowledge. To avoid fatalism, many of them have been inspired by Luis de Molina’s doctrine of middle knowledge. Created to provide a libertarian account of how God knows future contingents, the Molinist solution has divided contemporary interpreters into two camps: those who argue that Molinism implies determinism and those who have developed new analytical (...) strategies to support Molina’s thesis. Silence as praise to God is directly linked in Maimonides’ theology to some asserts concerning divine nature which makes Him absolutely unknowable. In Guide I (chapters 50 to 60) Maimonides considers that divine and human knowledge and nature have nothing in common, but even so we can direct our mind towards God through ‘looseness of expression’ (tasāmuh), a device which, nevertheless, doesn’t allow us to grasp His essence. According to Maimonides, we worship God through silence even if we can express (...) our attempt to approach him through attributes of action and the negation of any attribute that could express an essence. De Auxiliis designa uma famosa controvérsia filosófico-teológica do final do século XVI e início do século XVII, que envolveu teólogos espanhóis dominicanos e jesuítas em torno do tema/problema do livre arbítrio humano sob a influxo da graça divina. Considerado filosoficamente, o problema central gira em torno à determinação semântica de enunciados condicionais contrafactuais, problema este já presente em todos os enunciados teóricos composicionais. A partir do contexto histórico e teológico da controvérsia, juntamente com o surgimento do Molinismo, apresentaremos, com (...) alguns aportes da Filosofia Estrutural-Sistemática proposta por Lorenz Puntel, o problema filosófico da determinação semântica de sentenças teóricas em geral e a nova forma de determiná-las semanticamente. Isso possibilitará a elaboração filosófica de uma nova Teoria do Ser, na qual a grande questão de “Deus” e seus atributos encontrará seu mais adequado lugar teórico no discurso filosófico sistemático.
