    Meditatio Septuaginta: Torah recitation as a spiritual discipline.Cameron Boyd-Taylor - 2021 - HTS Theological Studies 77 (1):7.
There is evidence that the practice of meditative reading was cultivated by Hellenistic Jews as a discipline analogous to the spiritual exercises of the philosophical schools. The present study traces (1) the Deuteronomic antecedents of this practice, (2) its reconfiguration in the Torah Psalms, and (3) finally its expression in Greco-Jewish translation, with special reference to the Greek Psalter. Taking its cue from the work of Pierre Hadot, it situates this development within the larger matrix of Hellenistic philosophical discourse. The (...)

Traces of thoughts. The place of a theology of the Septuagint in biblical scholarship: In the past decades, research has raised the idea of a theology of the Septuagint (LXX) on various occasions. Important works were recently published on this topic in the Handbuch zur Septuaginta and the Septuagint and Cognate Studies series. The general theological tendencies of the LXX are identified by scholars in eschatology, messianism, anti-anthropomorphism and angelology. These tend to all be regarded as further developments of (...)

    Recent developments in Septuagint research.Johann Cook - 2018 - HTS Theological Studies 74 (3):8.
The time and opportunity have finally arrived for the next phase of Septuagint research. Even though not all the books of the LXX have been completed by the Septuaginta-Unternehmen in Göttingen, by far the largest number of books have been assigned and are being prepared. Thus, text-critical work has largely been completed, or is in the process of being prepared. The next phase, hermeneutical research, is at hand. This phase naturally requires correct methodology. This applies to an acceptable textual (...)

  18. Hebraísmos E helenismos no saltério latino.

On the translation of περὶ ἁμαρτίας in Romans 8:3. After checking the Septuaginta occurrences of περὶ ἁμαρτίας it is argued that it is unlikely that Romans 8:3d can be translated 'as a sin offering'.

Hermeneutics of the Biblical text in the school of Antioch: Adrian's Intro- duction to the Divine Scriptures.Maria Boichun - 2019 - Filosofska Dumka (Philosophical Thought) 3:92-103.
The main purpose of the study was to determine the place of the Greek revisions of the Scripture in Antiochian exegetical practice, on the example of the work of Adrian of Antioch “Εἰσαγωγή εἰς τὰς θείας γραφάς” (“Introduction to the Divine Scriptures”). The detailed analysis of the work envisaged the highlighting of hermeneutic and linguistic issues, as well as the fixation of linguistic features of the text: phonetics, morphology, syntax and vocabulary. An analysis of all levels of the author’s language (...)
