The present volume stems from a book-proposal made about two years ago to College Publications, London. The main idea was that of illustrating the interplay between the contemporary work in logic and the mainstream mathematics. The division of the volume in two sections - topics in 'logic' vs topics in 'computing' - is more or less conventional. Some contributions are focussed on historical and technical details meant to put in perspective the impact of the work of some outstanding mathematicians and (...) philosophers on the contemporary research in logic and computing science. Some other papers, also with a historical flavour, were supposed to evidentiate punctual methods of research and specific concepts or topics, as, e.g., decidability, computability, randomness, and computational or descriptive complexity. In general, the papers were intended as specific surveys of results. Other volumes - to be issued subsequently in the same series - will hopefully delineate aspects of the contemporary logic landscape that have not been illustrated here. The intended audience of the book includes graduate students in mathematical logic, foundations of matematics, and computing science, as well as philosophers, mathematicians, and, possibly, other scientists interested in the recent research on logic and computing. This book contains concrete examples from history, economy, biology, digital world, nuclear physics, agriculture and so on about breaking a neutrosophic dynamic system (i.e. a dynamic system that has indeterminacy) from inside. We define a neutrosophic mathematical model using a system of ordinary differential equations and the neutrosophic probability in order to approximate the process of breaking from inside a neutrosophic complex dynamic system. It shows that for breaking from inside it is needed a smaller force than for breaking from (...) outside the neutrosophic complex dynamic system. Methods that have been used in the past for breaking from inside are listed. Simulation and animation of this neutrosophic dynamical system are needed for the future since, by changing certain parameters, various types of breaking from inside may be simulated. Abstract: Această carte conține exemple concrete din istorie, economie, biologie, spațiu digital, fizică nucleară, agricultură și altele, de distrugere unui sistem neutrosofic dinamic (adică a unui sistem care are indeterminări), acționând din interiorul acestuia. Descriem un model neutrosofic matematic folosind un sistem de ecuații diferențiale ordinare și probabilitatea neutrosofică, cu scopul de a aproxima procesul de distrugere din interior a unui sistem neutrosofic dinamic complex. Se demonstrează că, pentru distrugerea din interior a unui astfel de sistem, este necesară o forță mai mică decât pentru distrugerea din exterior. Sunt enumerate metode folosite în trecut pentru distrugerea din interior. Simularea și animația acestui sistem neutrosofic dinamic sunt necesare pentru viitor, deoarece, schimbând diferiți parametri, se pot simula diferite tipuri de distrugeri din interior. (shrink)

Dne 17. 3. 2011 převzal Ladislav Kvasz jako první česko-slovenský laureát prestižní ocenění Prémio Internacional Fernando Gil para a Filosofia da Ciencia za rok 2010 označované také jako Nobelova cena ve filosofii. Toto velice prestižní ocenění mu bylo uděleno za knihu Patterns of Change. Linguistic Innovations in the Development of Classical Matematics, v níž prezentoval svou vlastní teorii o potencialitách jazyka matematiky.

There could be accepted an ontological model, in which every thing is identified with properties possessed by it. This study is an attempt at matematization of the concept of property. Axiomatization was conducted so that this concept could be compatible, to a maximum degree, with institutional understanding. The main result is assertion 11 due to its methodological consequences. A collection of all objects discernible with regard to the finite number of independent properties was called "space of jumps" (formal definitions of (...) "independence" and "space of jumps" are given in the article). "Space of jumps" may be treated as a certain model of "possible world". The assertions contained in the article give its characterization. By way of simplifying, the assertion 11 can be expressed as follows: accepting that a man s cognition takes place through a finite number of senses, which recognize basic and independent properties, it can be stated that a man cannot recognize objects possessing properties independent of properties recognizable through senses.
