Originally published in 1923, this book was the outcome of the wish of the Council of the Girls' Public Day School Trust, now known as the Girls' Day School Trust, to commemorate in written form the jubilee of the foundation of its first schools. The text provides an accessible account of the Trust and its schools, placing them in the broader context of educational change and examining their relationship with other institutions.
