Abstract

The submitted study presents a philosophical assessment of the Kant's Theory of Aesthetics, which is mainly exposed in his "Critique of Judgment". In the author's view Kant's Theory represents one of the most important interpretations of the fundamental philosophical problem of aesthetic Being in the modern history of philosophy, and is, at the same time, one of the best examples of Cartesian account of the metaphysical foundations of aesthetics. Upon reflection this fact turns out to be a very important one for our understanding of philosophical origins of modern aesthetics. (edited)
