Abstract

Bu makalede bedenlenmiş biliş kuramının eğitim üzerindeki olası etkileri tartışılmaktadır. İlgili eğitim ve öğretim kuramlarının tarihçesini kısaca özetledikten sonra, Kartezyen bakış açısı, bilişçilik, yapılandırmacılık ve sosyal yapılandırmacılığın bedenlenmiş bilişten farklı olan yönleri bedenlenmiş biliş kavramının gelişimi bağlamında özetlenmektedir. Sonuç olarak, bedenlenmiş biliş kuramının fen, matematik ve yabancı diller eğitimine olabilecek etkileri tartışmaya açılmaktadır.In this paper, we discuss the potential role of the embodied cognition on education. First, a brief history of the related learning theories is offered. Next, philosophical foundations of the Cartesian heritage, cognitivism, constructivism, and social constructivism are addressed. While doing that, how embodied cognition differs from the traditionally recognized learning theories and perspectives are discussed. A synthesis of the recent literature on embodied cognition is followed by a section devoted to the practical implications of embodied cognition, particularly in the contexts of science, mathematics and foreign language education
