Abstract

An exposition and demonstration of the internal consistency and homology across Zizek's major theoretical concepts and core logic, including his understanding of the Kantian Thing, Hegel's Logic of Reflection, Lacan's Logic of the Signifier, Hegel's Monarch and Lacan's Jouissance & the fantasy object; Irvin Yalom's The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy is used as a running illustration and instantiation of Zizek's structural logic throughout the paper; the paper suggests overall that to correctly grasp Zizek's interpretation of political and social phenomena, one must begin with a thorough understanding of his underlying formal logic
