Abstract

Political liberalism attempts to shape the concept of justice as purely "political" ideas, and completeness can not be a "moral" values. But any normative notion of justice can not seem to have not a moral, which formed a political liberalism faces a fundamental paradox. Through analysis we can see that political liberalism to overcome this paradox, we must find a kind of autonomous normative political concept. In addition, political liberalism to moral capacity as citizens of the two theoretical premises, while emphasizing the moral virtues of the citizen, these two factors are exacerbated by the paradox. Through interpretation and analysis of these two factors caused the theoretical problems and their causes, the article that the "political" liberal reason is difficult to erase the "moral" veil, which is rooted in liberal values ​​and political situation of the system . Political Liberalism attempts to model its conception of justice as a purely "political" conception, and it should not be a comprehensive "moral" one. But it seems that any normative conception of justice has to be moral, and this leads to the most fundamental paradox of political liberalism. By analysis we can see that political liberalism must seek an autonomous normative concept of the political in order to overcome the paradox. In addition, two factors deepen the paradox. One is that political liberalism takes the two moral capacities of citizens as its theoretical premise, the other is that it highlights moralized civic virtues. By interpreting and analyzing the theoretical difficulties the two factors bring and their causes, this article concludes that the root why "political" liberalism can hardly tear its "moral" veil lies in the position of the political in the system of values ​​of liberalism
