Abstract

Partindo da hipótese de que toda linguagem abriga formas de conhecimento e visão de mundo, e que as formas do discurso de conhecimento filosófico e científico são transformações específicas de formas de conhecimento preexistentes, o artigo examina o Catálogo das Nereidas, em Homero e Hesíodo, como exemplo de discurso categorial, nele compreendidas as relações de subordinação, atribuição e inerência.Starting from the hypothesis that all language includes within itself some form of knowledge and world-view, and that the forms of philosophical and scientific discourse are specific transformations of pre-existing knowledge, this article considers the Catalogue of the Nereids in Homer and Hesiod and analyzes it as a perfected example of categorical discourse, with its relationships of subordination, attribution and inherence
