Abstract

This is an extraordinary book in many ways. First, it is the most systematic of Paul Weiss’s many systematic books. Modes of Being focused almost exclusively on ultimate realities or what Weiss now calls "finalities." Beyond All Appearances focused on the appearances of everyday life and how they make reference to conditions lying beyond them. First Considerations systematically relates appearances and finalities, principally through the problems of getting to know them.
