The History of Chinese Philosophy by Feng Youlan: "the Understanding of Sympathy" and the Neo-Confucianism

Abstract

Lan the first historian of Chinese philosophy were known to the world. Two-volume "History of Chinese Philosophy" is a masterpiece of its fame. "History of Chinese Philosophy," there are a lot of features, chief among them that is "sympathetic understanding" and "Neo-Confucianism." "Sympathetic understanding" is not only a successful writing Fung, "History of Chinese Philosophy," the principles and methods, but also our future carry forward the fine traditional Chinese culture, the essential principles and methods. Fung and later became a famous Neo-Confucianism. As China's New Confucianism in modern academic thought, a typical representative of the general theory of Fung and I think those will be its "Sadamoto Six," the "New Science" philosophy represented. Article agree with this consensus, but would like to add that broadly speaking, seems to also include the two-volume book, Mr. Fung, "History of Chinese Philosophy" account. The article from its catalog, content, review, criticism, self-awareness and confession and "Sadamoto Six" are explored and discussed many aspects. Mr. Feng Youlan is well-known in the world as a historian in Chinese philosophy. The History of Chinese Philosophy is his well-known book. This book has two key Characteristics: "the understanding of sympathy" and "the neo-Confucianism" . "The understanding of sympathy" is a principle or method that is not only successful in Feng's writing the History of Chinese Philosophy, but also necessary to for us to develop the Chinese traditional culture today. Fen was then also a famous neo-Confucian. As a chief representative of the neo-Confucianism in the modern Chinese thoughts, Feng himself as well as the others hold that Feng's typical contribution is the philosophical system of "neo-Confucianism" in the "Zhen Yuan Six Books". I follow the agreement . What I what to make up is that the History of Chinese Philosophy might also be included. This paper studies on the catalogue, content, observation, comment, consciousness and confession of this book, as well as on "Zhen Yuan Six Books"
