Abstract

"Xunzi" book refers to "knowledge" / "wisdom" of up to four hundred and eighty seven, shows the "known" / "wisdom" of attention. In this paper, "Xunzi" in the "wisdom" De / "Wisdom" Thought must also be through the "knowledge" and "wisdom" of the analysis and understanding. Xunzi highlight the "heart" ─ especially the "demasking heart" ─ cognitive meaning is very special, "intellectual" de / "Wisdom" is also the special theory of moral knowledge construction in the present form, "Xunzi" "Wisdom" One major feature ideas. "Know" first as a "person" there are levels of this special ability ─ cognitive ability, "the heart can not not know" it, "Road" as "knowledge" of the main target. Secondly, the "something together that the intellectual knowledge," therefore, "knowledge" as the "wisdom" of the first meaning; "right and wrong" is "knowledge" /" wisdom "of the second meaning , is "Wisdom," the main content. As for the Rende on the move with the knowledge German, unlike Kong Mengru home, not only as a secondary "benevolence" of the second German, but with the same weight as the main German Rende; its meaning in addition to "right and wrong" outside , the scope of "knowing" is based, and thus "knowing", "make friends"; hence the "wisdom" of a different hierarchy. Finally, the conclusion of Xunzi, "the meaning and value of Wisdom" is: in addition to undertaking the importance of thinking of the hole Mengdui Zhi Germany, the further the "knowledge" / "wisdom" to the whole theory of moral practice in the theory of knowledge base construction core concepts. The term "chih " is found in Xun-zi for four hundred and eighty-seven times, showing the term is highly valued. In this article, the research on the concept of "prudence "also needs to be made through analyzing and understanding" chih . "Xun-zi stresses that the cognitive meaning of" mind "-especially" revealing the mind "-is extremely specific , and prudence is also manifested in the special construction of moral epistemology, which is a major characteristic of the thought about "moral intellect" in Xun-zi. "Chih " is firstly a special capacity-cognitive capacity-at the level of human being, while "Tao " is the major object of "intellect." Moreover, knowledge is the first meaning of "chih ", while "right and wrong "is the second meaning of" chih "as well as the primary immanence of" prudence. "As the counterpart of moral humanity, moral intellect is not, as in Confucianism, a secondary virtue subsidiary to" humanity "but a primary virtue equivalent to moral humanity. The immanence of prudence consists of" right and wrong "and ranges from" knowing one's self "to" knowing others "and" making others know one's self "; therefore intellect or prudence is graded. Finally, it's concluded that the meaning and value of Xun-zi's prudence lies in: other than continuing Confucius's and Mencius's emphasis on prudence, promoting "chih " as the under-construction key to the epistemological foundation of the whole theory of moral practice
