Some remarks on the independence of morality from religion

Abstract

The author's thesis is that moral agency and determination of the good are independent of any divine will. he also proposes that morality cannot be based on religion, although a religious belief can be dependent on our own sense of good and bad, but only to the extent that moral understanding must be logically prior to any religious assent.
