Abstract

This project presents the study of energy efficiency level on a selected building. Currently, UiTM Penang suffers from a high cost of electricity. The intention of this study is to collect data based on the previous electric bill and in field data acquisition. Thus, the data will be analyzed to compute the level of energy efficiency. This project is a part of an initiative to reduce energy wastage in Universiti Teknologi Mara building. This project will introduce the building energy index in order to interpret the building energy efficiency level. Apart from that, data acquisition was held at Unit Kesihatan UiTMPP’s Main Distribution Board room. The data acquisition was done by using Fluke 1750 Power Recorder. In addition, the project also can identify any wastage of energy and what aspect can be improved in the building. This project found that the energy usage monthly of this building is 4% of total energy consumed by the whole area of UiTM Penang.
