Abstract

The social sciences, and not just the natural sciences, have a first-order role in Zubiri’sphilosophy. This article explores the possible bidirectional relationships between Zubiri’sphilosophy and the social sciences, especially neurology, psychology, ethnology, and anthropology. To do this, we review some key concepts from Zubiri’s work, such as those ofapprehension of reality, formalization, and logos, searching for the relationship betweenZubiri’s positions and some of the most recent tendencies in the aforementioned sciences.This analysis brings out the fecundity that some of Zubiri’s ideas can have in the scientificrealm.Las ciencias humanas, y no solamente las ciencias naturales, desempeñan un papel deprimer orden en la filosofía de Zubiri. El presente artículo explora las posibles relacionesbidireccionales entre la filosofía de Zubiri y las ciencias humanas, especialmente la neurología, la psicología, la biología evolutiva, la etología y la antropología. Para ello se repasanalgunos conceptos claves en la obra de Zubiri, como los conceptos de aprehensión de realidad, formalización, y logos, buscando la relación entre las posiciones de Zubiri y algunas delas tendencias más recientes en las mencionadas ciencias.
