Abstract

Habermas's attempt to introduce areas of interest in epistemology, build awareness and interest in the dialectical unity of the new epistemology. The main features of his epistemology is: Hegel's critique of the totality of truth, to expand the study as the threshold and epistemological level, including the humanities and social sciences, including for various types of scientific understanding, truth as a defense theory of knowledge ; criticism only scientific theory of objectivism, emphasizing the critical epistemological reflection; highlights the value of understanding, the realization of the unity of fact and value; from the perspective of understanding and interest in the relationship of the relationship between theory and practice, critique of late capitalism and the social sciences technology closely due to the separation of theory and practice; trying to change the mode of an isolated epistemological subject, the subject of understanding between the language of relationships. Although his theory of knowledge is instructive, but a departure from Marx's labor point of view. Thus, despite his claims to his epistemology is pointing to human liberation, but it focuses on the critique of technological rationality, and did not touch the capitalist system. Habermas tries to introduce category of interests into epistemology to construct a new theory of knowledge. Here displays the main characteristics of his epistemology: in criticizing Hegel's view of truth and enlarging the spheres of epistemology, vindicating forms of cognition including humanities and social sciences; in criticizing objectivism and scientism, emphasizing the self-examination of cognition; in regarding interests as the foundation of epistemology, protruding the value dimension of epistemological construction; in exploring the relation of theory and practice from the kinship of cognition and interests, criticizing the separation of theory and practice in the wake of a scientism; and in aiming to change isolated subject model of epistemology, probing into a cognitive inter-subjective language communication. This paper holds, however, Habermas deviates from Marx's viewpoint of labor though his epistemology itself is enlightening . While his mankind emancipation ideal focuses on a critique of science and technology, he avoids criticizing capitalist system
