On the Relationships between Historical Novel of Sui-Tang Dynasties and Dream in the Red Chamber

Abstract

"Suitangyanyi" achievement although not with the "Dream of Red Mansions" comparison, but both in the characters of the novel structure or wording are on the "Dream of Red Mansions" and produced some creative impact. Emperor and Jia between the two figures is obvious inheritance relationship; Xuanzong Mei, Fei Yang 2 comparison of the hairpin, Dai and there is a certain set of design inspiration; Xiyuan Park and Grand View are also many similarities. In addition, the immortal incarnation of the model, and the political situation through a combination of written and one of the sentimental mood of the "Dream of Red Mansions" can also be seen in its shadow. "Dream of Red Mansions" in the same inheritance and innovation, which the novel has a permanent charm. Historical Novel of Sui-Tang Dynasties influences Dream in the Red Chamber in the aspects of characters' model and the novel structure as following even they are not comparable. Firstly, the characteristic of Jia Baoyu keeps some succession of Emperor Sui Yangdi remarkably. Secondly, the comparative of two Concubines Mei and Yang of Emperor Tang Xuanzong gives some enlightenment on the two figures of Xue Baochai and Lin Daiyn. Thirdly, the West Yard is similar to the Grand Sight Yard. Moreover, some other characteristics, such as the model of celestial beings' reincarnation, the style of writing of the combination of sentiment and politics, and the sentimental mood are found in Dream in the Red Chamber which is successful by its succession and creation
