Abstract

Accepting the idea of the Anthropocene is, for the institution of school, a fundamental challenge. Effectively, its aims and systems, even its content, need to be re-examined with a view to transforming the institution completely. Tension and potential risks emerge that need to be dealt with. Nevertheless, the research that has already taken place in the field of education on the environment, and also that of education in sustainable development, provide us with a certain number of marker. School can be seen as an efficient lever in the construction of a new relationship with the world, as well as in developing a collective narrative that mobilises people without being a source of anxiety.
