Abstract
The aim of the given research is to point out basic directions of rational ordering idea criticism by thinkers of the XX century. Rational ordering idea dates back to the deepest layers of European philosophy. However in the XX century this idea was exposed to rather serious criticism by representatives of various philosophical directions. Philosophical systematization of the given criticism is the very problem the article is supposed to solve. There were at least four directions of the given criticism. Firstly, thinkers imputed rational ordering idea that it supposedly contradicts the innermost needs of human nature. Secondly, there were accusations in subjectivity of current rational ordering practices. Thirdly, the concepts of ordering, based on principles that are alternative to ratio were given. Fourthly, the offers to abandon ordering idea totally were expressed. The named criticism directions compete successfully with popular in the XX century points in defense of rational ordering idea. The most known of them were the following. The first point stated exceptional importance of rational ordering for society development. The second one gave the rational ordering ideology as a meaning of standing against fatalistic world view emasculating society. The third point reasoned that the most important spheres of human activity are based precisely on rational ordering idea. Rational ordering criticism launched in the XX century had its specifics in comparison with similar criticism that had taken place in preceding epochs. On one side, this specificity is determined by the development of History of Philosophy. On the other, it was intellectual reaction on changes in society life that were happening in the XX century. Primarily it means unprecedented, comparing to previous epochs, growing role of techniques in society life.
