Abstract
INTRODUCTION[|]The aim of this study is to evaluate the professional values perception and the influencing factors of nurses working in the obstetrics and gynecology clinics.[¤]METHODS[|]This study was planned in a descriptive type and conducted in a multi-center. 52 nurses working in obstetrics and gynecology clinics participated in the study. The data were collected using 'Personal Information Form' and 'Nurses Professional Values Scale (NPVS)'. [¤]RESULTS[|]46.2% of the nurses participating in the study are 40 years old and above and 80.8% are undergraduate. The total working time of 55.8% of the participants as a nurse is 16 years or more. The total score average of the participants from the NPVS is 132.90 +- 14.38. In this study, it is seen that the importance that nurses attach to professional values is high. It was determined that there is a statistically significant difference between the total mean scores obtained from the NPVS and its sub-dimensions according to the nurses' willingly choosing the profession, being satisfied with the profession and their educational status (p <0.05). [¤]DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION[|]Participants who voluntarily chose their profession from nurses, who were satisfied with their profession, and whose educational background was graduate, had a higher perception of professional values. Considering the importance of education in the formation of professional value perception and its importance, it is necessary to provide training for professional values during nursing education. In addition, it is important that these trainings are realistic and reinforced with clinical applications.[¤]
