Abstract

Baudrillard is a typical post-modern theorists, has long been the core issue of domestic and international academic debate. This paper argues that this problem is not a simple concept of the dispute. In Baudrillard's thought is attributed to "post-modernism" on the behind, it reflects the people of the modern consumer society, post-industrial society, social or ultra-realistic simulation of the nature and characteristics of social understanding. Clarify and deepen the study of this issue will help to deepen understanding of Baudrillard's ideas. In this paper, the characteristics of modern technology, that technology, simulations, simulation features such as starting and ultra-authenticity of modern technology and modernity, post-modern nature of the relationship were investigated, and on this basis that Baldry Asia is a source of "symbolic exchange" principle, to conduct a radical critique of modern theorists and prophets, a lot of the characteristics of post-modernism, but not limited to the characteristics of post-modern scholars, after a The ultra-modern commentators. Of course, in exploring this issue, the need for modern, post-modern concepts such as to give the necessary definitions. Is Jean Baudrillard is a postmodernist? This is a key controversial question in the studies of Baudrillard. This paper points out that this question is not only the controversy over the definition of a concept, but also the key issue in understanding the essence and characteristic of modern consumer society, postindustrial society and the society of simulation and hyperreality in terms of the debate about whether Baudrillard should be relegated into "postmodernism". Accordingly, in terms of the characteristics of modem technological society, such as simulation, simulacra and hyperreality defined by Baudrillard, this paper tries to probe into the relationship between technology and postmodernity. Furthermore, it points out that Baudrillard's idea, to some extent, has some postmodern characteristics. However, fundamentally, Baudrillard is not only a well-known postmodernist, but also should be regarded as a radical critical theorist, holding the principle of symbolic exchange and beyond postmodernity
