Abstract

[This book] brings together primary texts in the history of West Philosophy focusing on the themes of love and desire. Complete and excerpted texts are preceded by substantive introductions and study questions. Introductions include brief biographies of the thinks and provide historical context, enabling students to appreciate both the continuity across and the historical breaks among these works. This anthology is suitable for general introductory courses in philosophy as well as specialized courses on philosophy of love and philosophy of th person.-Back cover.
