Migration of People and the Structure and Size of an Urban System

Abstract

Industrialization and urbanization will be the dominant future economic development of China's two most important trends, and urbanization most direct and most obvious manifestation is the population at different spatial location on the re-aggregation and distribution, that is, the size of the structure of urban system change . Analysis of population structure and migration on the urban scale impact of the regional socio-economic development can be seen, the urban system, urban and regional scale structure is a reflection of socio-economic development, to achieve large, medium and small cities is the key to optimize the coordinated development of urban system functions of the composite structure. Industrialization and urbanization will be the two major trends of economic development of China. The most direct and obvious feature of urbanization is different population scattering over the area, which can be called changed structure and size of an urban system. According to the analysis of the influence of migration on the structure and the size of an urban system, we can see the structure and size of an urban system reflect the economic development of a city or an area. In order to achieve best functional structure of an urban area, we should keep a coordinated development of different sized cities
