Abstract

Luigi Pareyson and Reinhard Lauth gave life to a philosophical dialogue of high level. The first one elaborated an original “ontology of freedom”, after crossing existentialism and hermeneutics. The second is a very important exponent of the transcendental philosophy in the line of Descartes, Kant and Fichte. Their points of contact are the thought of Fichte and Dostoevsky, and the attention paid to the relationship between philosophy and religion. Their interpretation of Fichte is different indeed, but Pareyson and Lauth converge in recognizing the depth of Dostoevsky’s reflection on the problem of the evil
