Abstract

Silk "five elements" and the bamboo "five elements" have been unearthed, adding to the early Confucian understanding of the history of ideas of evidence. Confucian philosophy is the core issue of interpretation, "there's the man of the people there," the issue, and there were the special structure of the core principle that is "heart." This article from the Confucian "benevolence" or "human science" perspective, found that "five elements articles" and "heart" presents three views with: first, in parallel with the body Zhuguan be a "good justice" of the functional - the official heart ; second, higher than the body and control body Zhuguan Zhuguan can be rather large for the body to those of the "king" - dominate the heart; third, strip the body of the sole survivors - Maintenance of the heart; third layer intended to contain, especially special and important, because the gentleman as a model of personality, that is, by the Maintenance of the heart was significantly out. "Five papers" who must learn from the man who called the "gentleman" look. The excavation of the Five Elements and Five Elements is a great assistance in understanding early Confucianism. The heart of Confucian philosophy lies in explaining the notion of "human beings as human beings". The most special characteristic of human existence is the "mind" . This article proceeds form the viewpoint of the "Philosophy of Benevolence", and the "Philosophy of Man". I contend, in this article, that the Five Elements chapter in the school of Mencius revolves around this notion of "mind" . From a reflection on the "mind and body" , I come to the conclusion that the mind has three levels of meaning in the Five Elements chapter. a.) It cooperates with the various functions of the body in developing "benevolence" and "righteousness" -Mind-Function. b.) It transcends the mere function of the body in order to create a "gentleman" -Mind-Ruler c. ) Eliminates the body as a separate entity-Admonishing Mind. These three levels are unique and important in that they help one to achieve the realm of the "Gentleman" . This realm is achieved as the mind acts as a control over the body. The philosophy of man in the Five Elements chapter necessarily proceeds from this notion of the "Gentleman"
