Abstract

The study focuses on the definition of methodological tools in the study of modern political actionism practices. It specifies post-structuralism and postmodernism as such methodologies and shows their potential on the example of their application for analysis of performances, happenings, installations etc. The study considers political actionism as a generalized name of “action art”, in which gesture, staged “performance” or provoked “event” is a work of art. Postmodernism as a way of modern political reality comprehension offers unexpected and original solutions of numerous sociopolitical problems. It is unique thanks to its radical critique of classic rationalism and the attempt to create non-classical principles of cognition.
