Abstract

After more than two hundred years, the French Revolution continues to exercise global influence. Twelve authorities analyze its historical and contemporary impact on American political culture, nationalism and freedom in Eastern Europe, Russian intellectual life, colonial bondage, Middle East politics, the Mexican Revolution, and Chinese socialism.
