Abstract

The article presents the origin of the sustainable development conception and discusses its main ideas: naturalistic monism, the understanding humanity as a historic entity, rationality in human behavior and particularly preferred values: pacifism, freedom, dignity, egalitarianism, life, justice, community, responsibility and restraint. These coherent ideas are the basis for considering the philosophy of sustainable development as a specific social philosophy – an alternative to the currently obligatory neoliberal model of social organization and humanity development changes in the axiological attitudes of modern man, proposed by the sustainable development conception, are thought to result in the creation of a new universal civilization - homo ecologicus
