Abstract

Resumen: "œNo se puede mirar", algunos grabados de F. de Goya muestran la violencia y el horror de la guerra. En la Literatura, E. Wiesel, P. Levi y J. Semprun han recordado el lado mas oscuro de la Historia contemporánea, mostrando el valor de la ficción como forma de conocimiento indirecto. El articulo presta especial atención al papel de la Literatura en la Filosofí­a Moral y Polí­tica. La Literatura ofrece una ví­a indirecta para entender el da�o, y para aproximarse a la Historia, a la Guerra Civil espaí±ola, a la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La tesis es que la ficción y el discurso filosófico siguen reglas diferentes, tienen propósitos diferentes. Sin embargo, se puede entender un tipo especial de experiencias gracias a uso cognitivo de lo narrativo "œYo lo vi", los grabados de Goya pueden ejemplificar como aproximarse a la violencia extrema. La Literatura, como conocimiento indirecto, puede hacer mas inteligible la Historia, haciendo en cierto modo justicia a las victimas de los crí­menes contra la humanidad."œWe cannot look at it", some prints of Francisco de Goya show violence and horror in war. In literature, E. Wiesel, J. Semprun, and P. Levi recalled the darkest side of contemporary history, exhibitting the value of fiction as a sort of indirect knowledge of history. The article pays special attention to the role of literature in moral and political philosophy: literature offers an indirect path to understand harm, and to get close to history . The thesis here is that fictional and philosophical discourses follow different rules, having different aims. However, a special kind of experience would be understood thanks to cognitive use of narrative texts; "œI have seen it", the pictures of Goya might help to approach extreme violence. Indirect knowledge from literature would render history more intelligible, thereby doing justice to the victims of crimes against mankind
