Abstract

Die intellektuelle Bindung zwischen Karl MannheimMannheim, Karl und Georg Simmel wird häufig anhand der Rolle untersucht, die beide Autoren bei der Entstehung der Soziologie in Deutschland gespielt haben. Diese Perspektive ist zwar richtig, lässt aber einen wichtigen Punkt außer Betracht. Ihr gemeinsames Anliegen besteht darin, zu verstehen, wie die Philosophie auf die Krise reagieren kann, die an der Wende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert die Wissenschaften und damit das Wissen als solches in Frage stellt.
