Ethno-cultural factors and their role in the formation of civil society: theoretical dimension of the problem

Abstract

The study tested how ethno-cultural factors influences on civil society development. The purpose. Identification and analysis of ethnic and cultural factors that influence the formation and development of civil society. Design / methodology / approach. Relevance of the research lies in the fact that civil society and processes associated with it are dynamic and constantly going to modernize and develop. The study tested the stages of civil society origin through the ethnic and cultural problems. The experience of the European and North American countries has been studied. Study reveals the problem of ethno-cultural factors and their transformation within the framework of the formation of civil society. The experience of such countries as: UK, Italy and the US were researched, have been considered the key stages in the reasons for the formation of civil society in these countries. The study shows the problem of ethno-cultural factors and their transformation within the framework of the formation of civil society. The study examined the importance of ethno-cultural factors such as national identity, collective and individual will, especially communicative processes. The study tested the special role of the individual as a member of civil society. Conclusions. The study found that the formation of civil society went through a stage of nation-states. Self-awareness by individuals separate public values over personal and national had a great influence on the formation of civil society. In addition, awareness of the need to harmonize their individual will to the collective, as well as the spread of globalization was one of the reasons for reducing the role of ethnic and cultural factors in civil society. An important place in origin of civil society, in terms of ethno-cultural aspects, has a communicative theory. It is through communication occurs involvement of the individual and blur the boundaries of ethnic and social factors. In study was shown the possibility of reversing development of events, and describes the impact of globalization processes on ethno-cultural factors. Practical implications. Lies in the possibility of its application in the analysis of the emergence and resolution of ethnic conflicts.
