Abstract

Starting from the “open realistic materistic philosophy” of Xavier Zubiri, this article reviewshis theological itinerary, pointing out the theological originality of what he calls “the theologal problem of man.” The Zubirian scheme is structured in three parts: the fact of “religation”; its necessary expression in religion, with its diversity of forms ;and Christianity as the witnessing, sanctifying, everlasting and expectant testimony oftruth. In the first volume of his trilogy, Zubiri does not try to write a theological treatiseabout God, but only to grasp “God qua God,” without attributes, by means of religation. Inthe second volume, by surveying different religions, Zubiri seeks the “religious truth” at thebottom of the reality of men throughout history. Finally, in the third volume, Zubiri rethinks purely theological themes, revealing that Christianity—as the religion of “deiformation”—is the historical transcendence of religion, the final historical solution of the radicalproblem of man, since by means of Incarnation God himself is the access to God.Partindo da “filosofia materista realista aberta” de Xavier Zubiri, pretende-se repercorrer o seu itinerário teológico destacando a originalidade teológica residente no que ele qualifica de “problema teologal do homem”. O esquema zubiriano estrutura-se em três partes: ofato da “religación”, a sua necessária “plasmación” em religião com sua diversidade de formas e o Cristianismo como o testemunho presencial, santificante,perene e expectante da verdade. No primeiro volume, Zubiri não pretende um tratado teoló-gico acerca de Deus, mas somente chegar a «Deus enquanto Deus», considerado em simesmo, sem atributos, pela “via da religación”. Ao analisar o segundo volume da trilogia,procura-se demonstrar que Zubiri, ao olhar para as diversas religiões, pretendeu apenasbuscar a “verdade religiosa” no fundo da realidade dos homens ao longo da história. Porfim, no terceiro volume, Zubiri repensa temas estritamente teológicos revelando que o cristianismo—como religião de deiformação—é a transcendência histórica da religião, a soluçãohistórica final do problema radical do homem, pois pela encarnação Deus mesmo é o acesso a Deus
