Abstract

Richard Rorty has made popular the postmodern capitulation of philosophy in favour of literature. For him, the traditional efforts of philosophers and scientists to go more beyond o nearer language in search of the truth outside time, contingency and chance, have failed. Therefore, he proposes a postphilosophical culture in which a role of a new cultural tendency is assumed by poets and novelists. In view of all this, in this article, I reconstruct the fundamental hypothesis wich justifies that capitulation –the textualism– and I put forward epistemological reasons which show up its inssufficient and inadequate nature
