Abstract

"Ethics from a Theocentric Perspective" develops a position which begins from experience, which asks whether traditional Christian symbols and theology are credible in the light of experience, and which insists that any adequate theology must take into account the findings of the natural sciences as important descriptions of human experience. This essay argues that the problem of evil is an important point of departure for Gustafson's position, and that it has significant consequences both for his theological "method" and for his "doctrine" of God.
