Abstract

This essay is the Part II and the concluding part of the essay under the same main title, whose Part I is subtitled ‘The Origin of Erroneous Exegetical Tradition of Bhagavadgītā.’ The aim of this essay is to bring out differences in the treatment of themes in the two texts, i.e. the Bhagavadgītā and the Anugītā, to show how erroneous interpretation is given in Anugītā of the themes from Bhagavadgītā. The misinterpretation of themes of Bhagavadgītā in Anugītā arises due to the latter’s non-adherence to the required hermeneutics, which is indicated in the Bhagavadgītā and which is elaborated to some extent in the Mahābhārata, which is the larger text in which Bhagavadgītā is embedded.
