Abstract

This chapter explores possibilities for moving towards a feminist and egalitarian anymal advocacy movement that takes interfacing oppressions seriously. Kadri Aavik draws on the example of Estonia where the anymal activist community is largely run by activists identifying as women. She suggests that an effective way to prevent sexism in social justice activism is to build and foster organizations—and a broader movement culture—informed by feminism and rooted in feminist values.
