William Crookes and the quest for absolute vacuum in the 1870s.Robert K. DeKosky - 1983 - Annals of Science 40 (1):1-18.
This essay examines the technical evolution and scientific context of William Crookes's effort to achieve an absolute vacuum in the 1870s.
