Abstract

It is proved consistent that there be a proper $\sigma$-ideal $\Im$ on $\omega_1$ and an $\aleph_1$-preserving poset $\mathbb{P}$ such that $\mathbb{P} \Vdash$ the $\sigma$-ideal generated by $\check{\Im}$ is not proper
