Assessment of ukraine housing provision

Abstract

It is known that for a sense of social security, everyone should be provided with housing which it is in his/her owning or leasing. Housing policy is one of the main areas of social protection and this is due to the relevance of this study. The state of the housing market in Ukraine and problems of provision of the population with affordable housing is analyzed. As a result of the studies the conclusion about the high degree of social tension that is caused by mismatch of population possibilities with their needs to improve the living conditions is done. To assess the provision status of housing of the population of the country, the following factors are analyzed: the number of households that are needed the better housing conditions, the rate of living space per person and the number of apartments with the appropriate number of rooms has to be built depending on the place of the building. By analyzing the level of housing provision in Ukraine, the factors affecting to the availability of housing for the citizens of Ukraine are given. The reasons hindering the growth of availability of affordable housing are also given. In conclusion, it is stated that the level of housing affordability remains low compared with developed countries and requires thoughtful mechanism to provide people of Ukraine with affordable housing, joint efforts of government, businesses, organizations and the public.
