Abstract

This work faces some questions relatives to the relation between violence and language. It is divided in two parts. The first one, starting from an observation by Marx, analyses the conditions that make possible the use of the language as an instrument of the violence. The second one considers, by one hand, the relation between language and self and , by the other hand, the relation between language and reality. Its conclusion, against a long tradition that had its summit in the thought of the young Wittgenstein, is that even if the language makes a violence both to the self and the reality, it is best that the silence
