From "Learning by Doing" to "Learning by Assembling"-International Production Specialization, Technology Diffusion and Independent Technology Innovation in the Situation of Globalization
Abstract
Modern economy, "doing" the meaning has been extended to developing countries in the gradual process of economic development in the "dry" form of production experience and achieve cost savings in the process. However, in the process of economic globalization, "learning by doing" has been gradually refined as the "dry" and "learning" the separation of the country, that is in production and processing in developing countries from the "secondary processing" and developed countries in technological innovation process from the "school development", the processing trade in developing countries can only be learned in processing technology. Developing countries to improve access to technology progress and the status of the international division of labor must rely on independent innovation. In modern economy, the term "learning by doing" means that the developing countries accumulate production experience and save cost through the process of "doing". However, "doing" is gradually separated from "learning" in different counties during the process of economic globalization, where the developing countries are engaged in assembling, who can only "learn by assembling", while developed countries who take up technological innovation can "learn from renovation and development". Since the developing countries can learn only how to assemble, they must turn to independent technical innovation to obtain technology upgrading and improve their status in global production network
