Abstract

The article introduces some features of Western legal thinking which take their origin from the Western concept of law. This legal idea assumes the law as an self-value (in legal positivism) or doubles the law (in natural law). The article emphasizes the multidisciplinary approach to law helps to avoid the usual traps of legal thinking. It delineates development of Western legal philosophy which gradually involved different disciplines from ethics and history to sociology and psychology. The article attempts to demonstrate the importance of consequent multidisciplinarity by a research which dealt with origin of formality of the roman law. This questing approached the legal phenomena among others from aspect of history of religion. Finally the writing drafts the special structure of multidisciplinary legal research introducing its main elements from human ethological view to the conceptual considerations.
