Abstract

The otherness of existence from quiddity is one of the important issues that has been posed for the first time in Islamic philosophy and was unprecedented in Greek philosophy. It owes its importance to the fact that it finally led to the theory of the principiality of existence, which can be considered to represent the culmination of Islamic Philosophy. The main purpose of this paper is to study this issue and its impact upon the development of the theory of the principiality of existence.
