Abstract

With the rapid change of the world and the development of technology, industrial activities are also increasing. This situation brings threats such as climate changeClimate change and global warmingGlobal warming and manifests itself with new problems such as sea pollution, environmental pollution, and air pollution. There are unusual climatic conditions such as long winters, springs as cold as winter, and late summers. Climate changeClimate change has become an issue that deeply affects the economy, society, and life. Flood disasters, drought, food crises, and the climate crisis that emerged as an epidemic are no longer just about the future but directly affect the present. In this study, the effects of climate changeClimate change are mentioned and the effects of climate changeClimate change effects on accounting and reporting are explained. The increasing need of companies for accounting and reporting on climate is emphasized and it is aimed to raise awareness of the climate crisis. While companies increase their competitiveness and carry out their operations and strategic breakthroughs, they should not hesitate to consider and report the effects of the climate crisis. It is important to better understand the climate crisis, how to integrate the effects of the crisis into company strategies, and how to report them, to account for additional costs, and to reserve provisions against risks. Governments, regulators, and companies, as well as individuals, have to deal with the climate crisis.
