Abstract

El objetivo del presente trabajo es explorarqué aspectos constitutivos son comparablese n do s t e o r í a s i n c o n me n s ur a b l e s ymediante qué mecanismos puede hacersela comparación. Ya que la solución al“problema de la inconmensurabilidad”que aquí pretendo sugerir se da bajo laperspectiva estructuralista; la respuestaal planteamiento central del texto implicadesarrollar un contraste entre la concepciónestándar y la concepción estructuralistade la ciencia. Para lograr mis objetivos,expondré los conceptos básicos de latesis de la inconmensurabilidad con elfin de discutir sus problemas. Así mismo,reconstruiré las dos formulaciones de Kuhnsobre la tesis de la inconmensurabilidad,y analizaré no sólo las objeciones másimportantes que se interpusieron en sucontra, sino también algunas implicaciones epistemologicas y onto-semantics relevantes.This paper intends to explore what constitutive aspects are comparablein two incommensurable theories andwhat mechanisms we can use to do thecomparison. Since the solution to the“problem of the incommensurability” thatI intend to suggest here is framed withinthe structuralist perspective, the answer to my main question requires drawinga clear contrast between the standard view of science and the st ruct ural i stview of science. To achieve my ends, Ishall outline the basic concepts of the thesis of incommensurability with the additional purpose of examining its problems. Likewise, I shall reconstruct Kuhn’s two formulations of the thesis ofincommensurability and I shall analyze themain objections raised against this thesisas well as some epistemological and ontosemantic consequences that are relevant to this discussion
