Abstract

The article considers one of the most acute problems of modern society, housing solutions for young families, which have been often discussed in the economic and social spheres of Russian society in the last 16 years. The main attention is paid to the existing ways of acquisition the first housing by a young family on preferential terms: the state program and commercial banks programs. The main task of this article is to identify the main problems that make it difficult to provide housing for young people with the help of mortgage lending, and to identify possible long-term measures aimed at increasing the rates of facilitating housing for young families in Russia and the Sverdlovsk region in particular. The paper presents a comparative analysis and preliminary calculations based on the publicly available statistical data of the Sverdlovsk region and a number of other subjects of the Russian Federation. The data analysis approach creates a real «picture» which makes it possible to adequately assess the current situation and choose a type of housing solution independently.
