Abstract

Examines the role of moral reasoning in America foreign policy. Discusses first the key question of whether foreign policy is a fit domain for ethical reasoning. Examines the difficulty in judging moral arguments and argues for a three-dimensional approach which weighs motives, means and consequences, rather than judgments based on motives or consequences alone.
